Classification of Sprinkler Systems based on sprinkler heads

If you own a residential or commercial property with lush green lawns in the beautiful city of Calgary, then it becomes imperative for you to have an advanced sprinkler system. There are a variety of brands available in the market these days, which offer top quality sprinklers, such as Hunter, Rain-Bird, Toro, Irritrol Calgary and a lot more. However, before you pick a brand, you need to decide upon the type of sprinkler you need for your lawns. What? Did you think that all sprinkler systems are more or less the same? Well, that is not true as there is a wide variety of sprinklers available in the market. They can broadly be classified on the basis of the sprinkler heads being used.
They are:
  • Pop-up Sprinkler Heads: These types of sprinklers are ideal for small residential or commercial properties. They can cover an area of around 30 sq ft. They can further be classified into Stationary Sprays and Rotary Sprays.
  • Rotor Sprinkler Heads: These sprinkler systems provide single and multiple streams of water. The water is distributed in an arc pattern. They can cover larger areas of around 20 to 150 feet.
  • Gear Driven Rotors: They are used for medium-scale residential and commercial properties. They do not require much maintenance as their structure is such that it prevents clogging of dirt and other materials.
  • Large Turf Rotors: They are used in parks, sports field, golf courses and other properties with large areas. Their rotors can generate 80 gallons of flow per minute.
So, when you purchase sprinkler of your favorite brand such as Hunter, Toro or Irritrol Calgary, just keep the aforementioned categories in mind before making a choice.
